Lead Pastor
Chipper and his wife Kristen felt called to plant City Church in the fall of 2011. After more than 1.5 years of planning and a move from Chicago to Gainesville in 2012, City Church is now a reality. Chipper's vision is for City Church to be a "family with open doors" that invites people into the City Church family. By God's grace, Chipper hopes that people from all walks of life will encounter Jesus, surrender their lives to him, grow in Christ, and tell others about Jesus.
Chipper has lived all over the US, including Alabama, South Carolina, California, Florida, Illinois, and now Florida again. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in business (marketing) from the University of Florida before moving to Chicago to study at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS). While at TEDS, Chipper married his wife Kristen (they met while students at the University of Florida) and graduated with a master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree. They have three children (Molly, Will, and Sadie).
Chipper served on the staff of Christ Community Church (PCA) in Gainesville during the 2008-09 academic year. He also served on the staff of Evanston Bible Fellowship (EFCA) in Evanston, IL from 2010-2012.
Chipper's interests include spending time with his wife, hanging out with his kids, exercising (especially playing tennis and running), watching the Gators and the Braves, and reading.
