Sunday Morning Worship (Holiday Schedule)

January 1, 2023

10:00am – 11:30am

Location: 19 SW 1st Street, Gainesville, Florida 32601

Directions

During the holidays, City Church has one weekly Sunday morning service at 10am (9am and 11am schedule resumes on January 8, 2023). We meet at our building in the heart of downtown Gainesville. These services are for everyone, including you! We believe you will experience a welcoming environment regardless of whether or not you have ever attended a church service. Join us as we seek to be an authentic community walking with God in our city.

Invite your friends, neighbors, and co-workers and come as a group! And as always, we encourage you to take advantage of the downtown restaurants and shops before and after the service. If you are not able to make this service, take heart! We have services every week.

What to expect:

When you approach the City Church entrance (19 SW 1st Street), signs will help you find the front door, where greeters will welcome you. High fives, fist bumps, hugs, eyebrow raises (for the more reserved types), etc. are always available. These greeters want to give you a warm hello, but they also want to answer any questions you may have, tell you more about City Church, help you find a seat, help you find our kids rooms, and even help you find the restrooms.

Our services last approximately one hour and twenty minutes, and consist of singing, a sermon, Scripture readings, and communion. There is also a "community time" (refreshments and fellowship) at the end of each service.

Each week, the sermon is posted to our YouTube channel. If you are unable to attend, you can join us online here.

Kids Programs:

During the holidays, childcare will only be available for birth through age 4.

Greeters will help you find our kids rooms. If the need arises, parents can easily attend to their children without interrupting the service.

Free Public Parking:

- 5 SW 1st St (City parking Lot 13 right in front of our church. Metered parking but free on Sundays)

- 121 W. University Ave (State Attorney's Office lot adjoining Lot 13 to the west). You may notice signage that indicates parking is not allowed, but the State Attorney's Office has graciously given us permission to use the lot on Sundays

- 5 NW 1st St (parking lot at the State Attorney's Office. The office is the building to the west of Jolie's)

- Along side streets, particularly SW 1st Avenue (when it re-opens) and Main Street

Note: Parking is also available in the SW Downtown parking garage (105 SW 3rd St) but it is not free. You can download the Passport Parking app on your mobile device.

What to Bring:

In a word - yourself. We have Bibles available at every City Church service, and you are welcome to take a Bible home if you don't own one.

What to Wear:

Whatever is comfortable. You will find a variety of styles at City Church. Some will wear dress shirts or dresses and others will wear blue jeans. Come as you are!
