Welcome to City Church!
City Church's weekly Sunday morning services begin at 9am and 11am. We meet at our building in the heart of downtown Gainesville. These services are for everyone, including you! We believe you will experience a welcoming environment regardless of whether or not you have ever attended a church service. Join us as we seek to be an authentic community walking with God in our city.
What to expect:
When you approach the City Church entrance (19 SW 1st Street), signs will help you find the front door, where greeters will welcome you. These greeters want to give you a warm hello and would be glad to answer any questions you may have, tell you more about City Church, help you find a seat, or help your family find the kids' rooms.
Our services last approximately one hour and twenty minutes, and consist of singing, a sermon, Scripture readings, prayer, and communion. We also encourage folks to come early and stay late to get to know others and develop relationships.
We post each Sunday's sermon here right after the 9am service. Past sermons are also available here.
Kids Programs:
For more information about our Sunday morning kids programs, visit the Children's Church page, explore the Children's Ministry curriculum, or check out the Children's Ministry FAQ.
Children of all ages are also welcome to participate in Sunday services at their parents' discretion.
Greeters will help you find our kids' rooms. If the need arises, parents can easily attend to their children without interrupting the service.
Free Public Parking:
- 5 SW 1st St (City parking Lot 13 right in front of our church. Parking is metered but it's free on Sundays.)
- 121 W. University Ave (State Attorney's Office lot adjoining Lot 13 to the west). You may notice signage that indicates parking is not allowed, but the State Attorney's Office has graciously given us permission to use the lot on Sundays.
- Along side streets, particularly a few spaces on SW 1st Avenue and several along Main Street
Note: For a minimal fee, parking is also available in the SW Downtown parking garage (105 SW 3rd St). You can download the Passport Parking app on your mobile device.
What to Bring:
In a word - yourself. We have Bibles available at every City Church service, and you are welcome to take a Bible home if you don't own one.
What to Wear:
You will find a variety of styles at City Church from jeans and t-shirts to dresses and button-up shirts with slacks. So whatever is comfortable for you, you are more than welcome to come as you are!
