Children's Ministry Co-Director
Joy was born in Florida and spent most of her childhood in Gainesville with her parents and three brothers. As a sophomore in high school, it was love at first sight when she met her now-husband, John, at a homeschool speech and debate tournament. After dual-enrolling at Santa Fe College, she received degrees in History and Political Science from the University of Florida. In 2015, she and John moved to the Boston area, where she worked at Harvard University while earning a Master's degree in Government. In the summer of 2022, Joy and John moved back to Gainesville with their incredibly adorable daughters, Ellie and Emmie. As lifelong Gator fans they’re hoping it is God’s will for them to stay in Gainesville for the rest of their lives!
Joy has been involved in educational and ministerial work at many levels, including experience as a Sunday school teacher, counselor for international students, nanny, and staff both at Christian non-profits and in higher education. She is passionate about imparting the miracle of the Gospel to children and their families and ministering to them with God's grace and truth.
